Punjab Speaker condoles demise of Bhai Khalsa
Chandigarh: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Sunday expressed deep sorrow over the unfortunate demise of Bhai Paramjit Singh Khalsa, patron of the All India Sikh Students Federation. Paying tributes, Sandhwan described Bhai Khalsa as a dedicated champion of the panthic cause. Throughout his life, Bhai Khalsa tirelessly promoted the advancement and unity of the panth and his demise is deeply mourned as a profound loss to the Sikh community. The Speaker prayed to the almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and to provide strength to the family, he added.
HP CM Minister condoles demise of Lance Naik Praveen Sharma
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday expressed deep condolences on the demise of Lance Naik Praveen Sharma. Expressing deep condolences to the bereaved family, he said that in this hour of grief, the State Government stands with the martyr's family. He assured all possible help to the martyr's family. Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan also expressed deep condolences to the martyr's family and prayed to God to give strength to the bereaved family. Sirmaur Deputy Commissioner Sumit Khimta said that the martyr's body will reach Chandigarh on Monday morning, and the administration has arranged for an ambulance to bring the body from Chandigarh. The martyr's last rites will be performed with military honours in his native village Habban of Rajgarh in Sirmaur district on Monday.
Hindi poetry book 'Uns' unveiled in multiple languages
Chandigarh: Hindi poetry book ‘Uns’, written by city-based Nisha Luthra — a poet, theatre and film director, and also Founder-Director of The Narrators Performing Arts Society — was unveiled in multiple languages at Government Museum and Art Gallery's Auditorium, Sector-10, Chandigarh. Originally launched in 2022, ‘Uns’ has now been translated into Punjabi, Urdu, Assamese, English, and French.
Hooda meets Traders; Says Inspector Raj will be abolished after Cong forms Govt in Hry

HSSC issues PST schedule for Hry Police Male constables
Chandigarh: Haryana Staff Selection Commission chairman Himmat Singh on Sunday said that after Physical Measurement Test (PMT) conducted for 5,000 male constable (general duty) posts in Haryana Police, the Physical Screening Test (PST) program has now been scheduled. He said that the registration numbers of candidates who have passed the PMT are available on the Commission’s official website — www.hssc.gov.in. He also appealed to candidates to regularly check their schedule and program. After the PST for male constables, the PST schedule for 1,000 female constables will be issued.
‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign aims to encourage people to bring tricolour home: Minister
Chandigarh: Haryana Minister of State for Urban Local Bodies Subhash Sudha on Sunday said that the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is an initiative by the Government of India to remember and celebrate the glorious history, culture, and achievements of the nation during the struggle for independence. Speaking at a Tiranga campaign event in Sonipat, the Urban Local Bodies Minister said that ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign under the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, aiming to encourage people to bring the tricolour home and hoist it in celebration of the 75th year of India's independence. The idea behind this initiative is to inspire a sense of patriotism in people's hearts and to raise awareness about the Indian national flag.
Tiranga yatra organized in Firozpur Jhirka
Chandigarh: Haryana Minister of State for School Education Seema Trikha led a Tiranga Yatra under the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign in Firozpur Jhirka, Nuh, from the BDPO office to Lal Kuan Chowk. People from various communities and religious institutions participated in the yatra. After this, the Education Minister paid floral tributes to martyrs at the Shaheed Smarak. During her address at the Tiranga Yatra, the Education Minister stated that for the past 10 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has celebrated festivals like Holi and Diwali with our soldiers on the borders, reflecting his deep respect for them. She said that it is our moral responsibility to instil a patriotic feeling in our children.
Govt has no shortage of funds for development works: Minister Bishamber Singh
Chandigarh: Haryana Minister of State for Social Justice, Empowerment, SCs & BCs Welfare and Antyodaya Bishamber Singh on Sunday said that the government has no shortage of funds for development works. The Social Justice and Empowerment Minister inaugurated a newly constructed lane and Valmiki Dharamshala in the village of Gujarani, Bhiwani, and announced a grant of Rs one crore for development works in the village. Addressing the villagers, the Minister mentioned that the government is ensuring equal development across the state and is providing jobs without any favoritism or recommendations just on the basis of merits. This has instilled new confidence among hardworking youth, and children from poor backgrounds are now occupying high positions in government jobs.
