National Sports Day at SBPS
To mark the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, one of the most iconic figures of Indian sports history, Sarala Birla Public School, Ranchi celebrated National Sports Day highlighting the importance of physical fitness and sportsmanship. The event comprised a cosplay, a song highlighting the importance of sports and speech. Additionally, a student-teacher friendly cricket match was also played in which the students’ team emerged victorious. The entire event encouraged students to stay active and engaged in sports. Principal, Paramjit Kaur, necessitated the importance of sports which benefit not just the physique of an individual but also develops the mind. She also encouraged everyone to take up sports actively.
Auto, e-rickshaw drivers' strike ends
The Auto and e-rickshaw drivers have called off their strike on Thursday evening. The strike has been called off after talks with the Transport Secretary and Municipal Commissioner. The auto and e-rickshaw drivers had gone on strike from August 27. The strike of auto drivers started in protest against the change in the rule of running autos within 20 km radius of the capital. The indefinite strike of auto and e-rickshaw drivers continued for three days. Passengers were facing a lot of problems due to the strike of auto drivers. Meanwhile, news was coming that the CM had called the auto drivers for talks on August 30.
SCS celebrates National Sports Day
Surendranath Centenary School celebrated National Sports Day with great fervour, honouring the legacy of Major Dhyan Chand. The sports club of the school conducted the activities, which began with a special assembly where students took a pledge to prioritize physical fitness and sportsmanship. Students from various classes participated in a range of events. In the senior wing, classes IX to XII participated in Basketball, Volleyball, Shot put, Khokho, 100m race, whereas classes VI to VIII competed in Chess, Carrom, and Tug of war. In addition, students from Pre-Nursery to KG enjoyed fun games, while students from Class I-V engaged in various races, dodge ball, and traditional games like gilli danda and pitto. Class V students visited Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium, interacting with SAI coaches and national players, and participated in a relay race. The school management felicitated two talented Table Tennis players, Alishad Khan and Earth Ghosh of Class VI, who have represented the school at district and state levels and won laurels for the school.
