Bokaro MLA sparks unemployment debate in Assembly

Wednesday, 28 February 2024 | PNS | BOKARO

During the budget session of the Jharkhand Assembly, Bokaro MLA Biranchi Narayan raised critical questions regarding the alarming unemployment situation in the state. Through pointed inquiries, attention was drawn to the staggering number of vacant positions across various government departments.

According to data disclosed in response to queries posed through short notices, the Department  has revealed an unsettling figure of 2,87,129 vacant positions. This revelation has sparked demands for accountability from the State government .

However, the government's response has shed light on a fraction of the vacancies, stating figures of only 45,587 to 46,835 positions. Legislator Bokaro raised a contrast between the disclosed numbers and the actual magnitude of unemployment saying the same underscores the severity of the situation facing Jharkhand's workforce.

As the state approaches the culmination of its fourth year under the current administration, the final year poses a critical juncture for addressing the pressing issue of unemployment. With legislators seeking answers  clamoring for action, the spotlight remains firmly fixed on the government's ability to deliver on its promises of job creation and economic empowerment.
