The inauguration of the Intra-Departmental Cricket Championship (2023-24) took place at the BSL Cricket Stadium in Bokaro, scheduled to run until March 15, 2024. Among the distinguished guests at the opening session were Shaligram Singh, CGM (CED), N.A. Saifi, CGM (L&E), Manikant Dhan, COC BSL, A.K. Avinash, CGM (Town Administration), Subhash Rajak (Sports & C.A.), along with other officials.
Notably Sixteen departmental teams are participating in the championship, divided into four groups. The first match of the day saw Jharkhand Group of Mines competing against SRU, with Jharkhand Group of Mines emerging victorious by 90 runs. In the second match, the Department of Personnel and Coke Oven Department faced off, resulting in a victory for the coke Oven Department by 2 wickets.
