On the occasion of National Sports Day, celebrated across India in honor of Major Dhyan Chand's birth anniversary, the Bokaro District Olympic Association held a special event to honor athletes. The association emphasized that this day is not just a festival for athletes but a moment of pride and recognition.
The event, organized by the association, took place at the Institute Sports Complex Auditorium, Sector 4, where the chief guest was Fr. Joshi Varghese, Principal of St. Xavier's School. In his address, Fr. Varghese stated that National Sports Day is a day to reflect on and be inspired by the ideals of Major Dhyan Chand.
The association honored local athletes who have brought international and national recognition to Bokaro district through their outstanding performances. Also Special recognition was given to Sagar Kumar .
The event also featured speeches by district sports officials, who expressed pride in the district's athletes for their achievements at various levels. The ceremony was presided over by Bipin Kumar Singh, President of the Bokaro District Olympic Association, and conducted by Gopal Thakur, the General Secretary.
