Setting a year-end deadline for handing over possession of three Middle Income Group (MIG) apartment blocks at the 12-Number Residential Project, Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan, on Friday, said that further delays would result in penalties for contractors.
Speaking to stakeholders following an inspection of the project, being built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Narayan emphasised the need for timely completion of work.He warned contractors that delays would result in penalties.
During the inspection, Narayan interacted with residents and beneficiaries of the project and assured them of prompt resolution of their concerns.During the review, officials informed Narayan that in the MIG category, three blocks with 216 houses have been completed. In the LIG category, eight blocks with 576 houses are under construction, and in the EWS category, nine blocks with 432 houses are being developed.
Construction of one MIG block is nearly complete, while only finishing touches remain in the second and third blocks.
The LIG category work is expected to be finished by March 2025, with two more blocks completed by April and May.For EWS houses, one block will be completed by April, and two others will be ready by May.
