As part of its campaign against polluters, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday collected Rs 83,200 in fines from 136 cases across the city.
Of these, 24 cases involved the spreading of Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste and building materials on roads, resulting in fines amounting to Rs 52,900.Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan has directed officials to closely monitor such activities. He has urged the use of green nets on under-construction buildings to control dust and pollution.
The corporation appealed to builders to comply with the green net requirement and contribute to improving the city's air quality. The administration also warned that strict action would be taken against violators.In addition, fines were imposed for issues such as the lack of dustbins, improper waste segregation.
