The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) youth wing in Jharkhand has planned a large-scale protest on August 23 at the residence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The protest is expected to see participation from over 100,000 youths. This announcement was made during a press conference held at the residence of BJP MLA Biranchi Narayan in Bokaro.
At the press conference, MLA Biranchi Narayan raised concerns regarding promises made by Chief Minister Soren during the 2019 Assembly elections, including the creation of 500,000 jobs for the youth, and the provision of unemployment allowances for graduates and postgraduates. Legislator Narayan claimed that these promises remain unfulfilled, leading to dissatisfaction among the youth.
Narayan also pointed to other promises made to women, farmers, and the general public, stating that these too have not been met. He mentioned recent incidents of crime, including robbery, murder, and rape, as areas of concern.
Additionally, Narayan expressed concerns about demographic changes in the state, mentioning an alleged increase in the presence of Rohingya Muslims in Jharkhand.
The protest is expected to involve over 10,000 youths from the four Assembly constituencies in Bokaro district. Preparations are being made by the BJP and its youth wing at the booth and Mandal levels to mobilize support for the event.
