BJP State spokesperson and former member of Ranchi University Senate Pratul Shahdev met Governor Santosh Gangwar at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. Pratul informed the Governor that thousands of free seats have been reserved for BPL students in all the departments of undergraduate, post graduate and self-financing courses in various departments of the university and college across the state. Due to the indifference of the university and college managements, a large number of seats reserved for the poor are still not being admitted in different departments. This is injustice to the poor tribal native children of Jharkhand.
Pratul informed the Governor that in self-financing courses like BBA, MBA, MCA, Fashion Designing, there is a provision of 10 seats for BPL students. But the management does not take interest.
Pratul informed the Governor that when he was a member of the Senate of Ranchi University, he had campaigned for admission on these BPL seats, which yielded positive results. But once again in recent years, the university management has become indifferent.
Pratul urged the Governor to take cognizance of this issue so that justice can be done to the poor meritorious students of the state. Positive assurance was received on this issue from the Governor.
