In a fiery address during an event in Gamharia, CM Hemant Soren launched a blistering attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing the saffron party of orchestrating a campaign to destabilize his government in the State.
Soren alleged that the BJP has been actively plotting to unseat his administration by "calling leaders from neighbouring states and using every possible tactic to create unrest and discord in Jharkhand." He claimed that these actions are part of a larger conspiracy by the BJP to regain power in the state by undermining the democratically elected government.
"The BJP has been conspiring for the last five months, bringing in leaders from Assam and Chhattisgarh to disrupt the peace and harmony of our state," Soren stated. "They are using money power and government agencies to topple our government, which was elected by the people of Jharkhand to serve their interests, not the BJP's agenda."
Soren also pointed to the BJP's alleged lack of support for tribal communities and other marginalized groups, contrasting it with his government's efforts to uplift these communities through various welfare schemes. "While the BJP tries to divide us, our government is focused on uniting the people of Jharkhand and ensuring their prosperity," he asserted.
He was addressing the Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Mainiya Samman Yojana event. The Chief Minister transferred a substantial amount of ₹57 crore 38 lakh 99 thousand to the bank accounts of women aged 21 to 50 from three districts in the Kolhan division, demonstrating his administration’s commitment to supporting women and boosting their economic status.
In his address, Soren highlighted the benefits of the scheme, which aims to empower women across the state. To date, 5,73,899 beneficiaries have been identified in the three districts, and the scheme is set to continue, ensuring ongoing support for eligible women. He emphasized, "This scheme is a boon for the women of Jharkhand," underscoring the government’s efforts to uplift marginalized communities and support women’s livelihoods.
In the first phase, the first installment of funds was distributed: ₹24 crore 77 lakh 28 thousand to 2,47,728 women in East Singhbhum, ₹18 crore 23 lakh 36 thousand to 1,82,336 women in West Singhbhum, and ₹14 crore 38 lakh 35 thousand to 1,43,835 women in Saraikela-Kharsawan.
Soren highlighted his administration’s efforts in providing support to the state’s marginalized communities, including pension schemes, job guarantees, and agricultural support. "The previous government could only provide pensions to 15 lakh people in five years, but our coalition government has reached 40 lakh people in just four and a half years," he stated. He also announced future plans to waive off electricity bills and farmers' loans, reinforcing his government’s commitment to economic justice.
The Chief Minister’s remarks also included a bold promise to the people of Jharkhand, declaring that if his government is re-elected, every family in the state would receive ₹1 lakh per month. "No government has done this before. They only want to divide us along religious lines, but our government is focused on inclusivity and economic support for all," he promised, signaling his commitment to transformative policies aimed at social welfare and economic growth.
Health Minister Banna Gupta along with other party leaders also addressed the gathering.
