Jyoti Aggarwal, wife of Ravi Aggarwal, a businessman from Jamshedpur, was shot dead by criminals on Friday night. Extortion was being demanded from Ravi Aggarwal for two months. It is suspected that the same extortion demanding gang has carried out the incident.
It is being told that Ravi Aggarwal and his wife Jyoti were returning after dinner at a hotel located on the highway outside the city on Friday night, when criminals stopped their car at a place called Kanderbeda. He pointed the pistol at Ravi, but Jyoti Aggarwal tried to stop him. On this the criminals shot him in the head. Jyoti was immediately taken to Tata Main Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Ravi Aggarwal, living in Sonari area of the city, has a plywood establishment in Bhuiyadih area. He says that extortion was being demanded from him over the phone, whose complaint was lodged by Ravi Aggarwal in Sitaramdera police station.
