As part of an ongoing drive for the issuance of Ayushman cards to senior citizens aged 70 and above, the health department announced on Saturday that the activity will continue on November 11 and 12 after a Sunday break.
Over 2,600 cards have already been issued.Special camps will be organised at 18 municipal ward offices across the city in a joint effort between the health department and the civic body.
Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Prabhakar Tiwari stated that 2,613 cards have already been issued. The camps are being organised to provide doorstep services to the elderly.
Cardholders under the Ayushman scheme are eligible for cashless treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh per year at designated government and private hospitals enlisted by the government.The issuance of Ayushman cards will recommence on Monday at municipal offices in wards Nos. 02, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 49, 50, 58, 59, 80, 81, 82, 83, 84, and 85 on November 11–12.Meanwhile, several elderly people have complained about the digital system failing to scan their fingerprint impressions. Experts say that the fading of fingerprints with age is a natural process.
