In Jharkhand, senior officials of the Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperatives Department will be on field visits two days a week. Its purpose is to know the reality of the department's schemes at the ground level. The officials will come out of the closed rooms of the department and work to understand the reality of the schemes on the ground.
Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperatives Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey has given these instructions to the officials after her first departmental review at Nepal House. After the day-long marathon meeting, Tirkey said that in the review meeting, the challenges before the department were identified and discussions were held on moving towards their solution. Along with this, guidelines have also been given to the officials regarding the departmental budget.
The Minister has instructed the officials to adopt the thinking of accepting people's suggestions with an open mind. She said that the department will develop rural haat _ bazaar. There has also been a consensus on spending the department's money to repair the dilapidated Haat Bazaar in rural areas. Instructions have been given to issue a scheme calendar at the block level for complete information about the department's schemes. In fact, due to lack of correct information about the scheme, the benefits of the department's scheme do not reach the beneficiaries.
During the review meeting, clear instructions have been given to the officials regarding the schemes of the central government. Tirkey has instructed the officials that the scheme of the central government will first be reviewed at the departmental level. After the departmental consensus is reached on the scheme, the department will work on it. The department will take special initiatives to promote animal markets in Jharkhand. Such markets will prove useful for buying and selling animals in rural areas.
The Minister said that the department's focus will be on starting old cold storages instead of building new cold storages. The department will promote rural level markets to promote the farmers' produce. It has been decided to promote Medha Dairy rapidly. In the review meeting, Tirkey said that farmers in Jharkhand focus more on Kharif and Rabi crops. There is a need to change this with time. For potato cultivation in the state, first storage and processing units will be required. For this, the department officials will coordinate with the Industry Department and take initiative in this direction.
