The demolition of 45-year-old buildings located in Bhopal's 5 number market started on Monday, there are a total of 225 houses and shops in these buildings which have been declared completely dilapidated.
Therefore, the Housing Board started the action in the presence of police, 27 extremely dilapidated houses are being demolished in the first phase. Many people have also encroached on the roofs and verandas and this was also demolished.

Assistant Engineer Arjun Gaur said that the building of Ravishankar Market has been declared completely dilapidated. There are a total of 225 houses and shops here. 27 houses have been selected in the first phase. Action is going on in two multis. Along with this, encroachment is also being removed. Many people had also constructed on the roof of the house and rented them out, but these buildings are not habitable. In such a situation, a big accident can also happen. Therefore, dilapidated buildings are being demolished.
There are 165 houses and 65 shops in RSS market located at number 5 market. This entire colony is 45 years old. The building has become dilapidated. Under the government's re-development policy, the Housing Board is demolishing it and bringing a new project here. Most of the people here have given their consent for the new project.
However, the Housing Board is building temporary shops nearby for all the shopkeepers. In the new project, the Housing Board will build a house 20 percent bigger than the current house for the people here. New shops and houses will be available for free. Also, the board will also pay rent as per the collector's guidelines for the time the project is constructed.
Rajiv Gandhi Technical University had done a structural stability test of the buildings of RSS Market. In this report, this 45-50 years old building was declared completely dilapidated. The Municipal Corporation has also declared this building dilapidated. Therefore, it is being developed afresh under the re-development project.
Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh and MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani had a meeting regarding the project recently.
Under the re-development, a total of 8 towers of 20 floors each will be built here in the new project, 380 flats ranging from 1 BHK to 5 BHK and 129 shops will be built. Currently there are 65 shops and 165 houses. According to the new proposal, 80 1 BHK, 120 2 BHK, 40 3 BHK, 120 4 BHK, 20 5 BHK flats and 129 new shops will be built here. In this way, 215 flats and 64 new shops will be available for new buyers.
