: Out of 554 railway stations in the country, three stations namely Keonjhar, Juruli and Barbil will be redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat station scheme. Accordingly, on February 26, the inauguration program was held at the respective railway station. While Padma Shri Tulasi Munda graced the occasion as the chief guest at Barbil, Champua MLA Meenakshi Mahanta was the chief guest at Juruli.
Similarly, Sadar MLA Mohan Majhi, Rengali MLA Nauri Naik and Nialagiri MLA Sukanta Kumar Nayak were present at Keonjhar railway station. Keonjhar MP Chandrayani Murmu failed to attend the event at Keonjhar, although she had been invited.
Before the start of the virtual inauguration by PM Narendra Modi, cultural programmes were held by students of local schools. They were felicitated for their success in different competitions.
