A 20-year-old habitual criminal was shot in his leg at Kolar area, he has been admitted to JK Hospital, he was shot accidentally by his friend, claimed the injured youth. 

The injured said that the one who shot him was his friend. He had loaded the pistol and aimed towards him mockingly and it opened fired by mistake.

Meanwhile, the police said that the injured had earlier said that three unknown people had shot him. His statements are being verified. After this, an FIR will be registered.

TI Sanjay Singh Soni said that Altaf Ali, resident of Gehunkheda, is a school van driver. He said that he was going to his friend's house in Lalita Nagar on a bike at 10 am on Thursday during which three unknown youths brought their bike close to his bike.

He fired a shot, the bullet hit his leg and then fled. However, in a short while, Altaf changed his statement and said that a young man fired the shot. His statements are being verified. After which an FIR will be registered.

The injured said that the pistol was loaded in front of his eyes and fired.

The injured Altaf said that he had left from his house in Gehunkheda in the morning to meet his friend Raj Singh Rajput. When he went to his house in Lalita Nagar, he said wait, I will show you something special. Raj brought a pistol from inside. He had a bullet in one hand, I asked what is this, then he told me that this is a real pistol.

Meanwhile, he loaded the bullet in the pistol and loaded it. He taunted and as soon as I lowered my hand, it fired by mistake. The bullet hit my leg. Raj took me to the hospital. Got me admitted and ran away seeing the police coming. According to Altaf, accused Raj has cases registered against him in Kolar and other police stations. His father also has several cases registered against him, who is currently out of the district. Altaf said that Raj had no intention of killing me. The bullet was fired by mistake.
