The Brahmapur police arrested two inter-State ganja smugglers who were wanted in cases in Mumbai and Chennai. Later, they were handed over teams of the Mumbai and Chennai police.
The Digapahandi police arrested Ranjan Nayak (34) of village Dharampur, who was wanted from 2021 in a NDPS case registered in Mumbai. The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Mumbai Commissionerate police had sought assistance of the Brahmapur police for assistance to nab the fugitive, said Brahmapur SP Sarvana Vivek M.
Besides, another inter-State ganja smuggler who was wanted in an FIR registered in PEW, Gummudipundi police station in Chennai for smuggling of the contraband, was also arrested by the Brahmapur police and handed over to a Tamil Nadu Police team.
Accused K Hrushikesh Reddy alias Rishi of village Hantulu under the Golanthara police station was wanted in an NDPS case registered in Chennai, but he was absconding since then, said the SP.
