Principal Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department Sunil Kumar has said that the state government is very sensitive about every urban poor family having their own house and getting employment in their own city. Speaking at the review meeting of the urban bodies of the state on Friday, he said that the urban bodies should work sensitively on providing housing to the poor, providing employment, providing pure drinking water to all the citizens, cleanliness of the city as well as how to improve the standard of living of the people.
He reviewed the progress of many schemes implemented by JUSCO including Affordable Housing Scheme and Beneficiary Based Individual Housing Construction Scheme under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Deendayal Antyodaya Urban Livelihood Mission, PM Swanidhi Yojana, Chief Minister Shramik Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission and Amrit Yojana and gave necessary instructions.
Kumar conducted an in-depth review of this scheme and said that under this, he will request the Electricity Department to provide electricity to the buildings under construction. The electricity department will prepare the structure till there and the concerned municipal body will do the further work in collaboration with that society.
The municipal body should arrange for drinking water in such new societies with the help of drinking water. Ensure that the beneficiaries who are not able to shift to their homes due to lack of money get a loan from the bank. Organize loan fairs several times within a week. DMA was instructed to hold state level bankers meet soon.
The Principal Secretary directed to take the current status of the job card holders registered under the Chief Minister Shramik Yojana and also to make a list of those who are getting employment on the basis of this card and who is not seeking employment.
Along with this, instructions have been given to expedite the formation of Self Help Group and Area Level Federation under Deendayal Antyodaya Urban Livelihood Mission, and to review how much improvement has come in the lives of those who joined it and started employment by getting a loan.
Kumar said that cleanliness is necessary in cities, so ensure availability of land where solid waste management plants are not installed. Wherever the construction work of the plant is going on, complete the construction work as soon as possible and make the plant functional. He also said that wherever there is a problem in land transfer, environmental clearance etc. for the scheme related to drinking water and sanitation, a letter will be written from the Secretary level and if necessary, an attempt will be made to organize a meeting at the Chief Secretary level.
Director of State Urban Development Agency, Amit Kumar directed many municipal bodies to complete the work of Solid Waste Management Plant soon and where the work has not started, clear the land dispute and apply for environmental clearance.
In the review meeting, all the water supply schemes of the state including water supply schemes running under Amrit, Asian Development Bank, World Bank such as Water Supply Scheme Khunti, Water Supply Scheme Hazaribagh, Water Supply Scheme Ranchi were reviewed and instructions were given to JUSCO and local municipal bodies to complete the schemes on time.
Present in the meeting were State Urban Development Agency Director Amit Kumar, Additional Secretary Manohar Marandi, Additional Secretary Gyanendra Kumar, Joint Secretary Deepak Dubey, Joint Secretary Jyotshana Singh, Urban Administration Directorate Director Satyendra Kumar, Urban Development and Housing Department, Urban Administration Directorate, State Urban Development Agency, Jharkhand State Housing Board, JUSCO, Ranchi Smart City along with administrators, additional administrators, executive officers and managers of all 49 municipal bodies of the state.
