PSPCL detects 2,075 cases of power theft

Chandigarh: In accordance with zero tolerance policy of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government against power thefts, a special checking drive was carried out on Saturday in five zones of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) -- Amritsar, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Patiala.Disclosing this in a Press communique issued here on Sunday, the Power Minister Punjab Harbhajan Singh ETO said the checking drive was carried out jointly by the Distribution and Enforcement wing of PSPCL. During this checking, a total 28,487 power connections were checked in all the five zones. Out of these checked connections, a total 2,075 cases of power theft were detected and a penalty of Rs 4.64 crore was imposed on erring consumers.

 

Letter of Appreciation 

Patiala: Under the able leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO is giving due recognition to outstanding services being rendered by the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) officials, with a view to motivate them. The Minister has issued a `Letter of Appreciation' to Balvir Singh Hari, Additional Superintending Engineer, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), Urban Division, Moga, for handling the work of his department very efficiently and in a timely manner. In the letter, the Minister mentioned that this officer's behavior with the general public is commendable and he is performing his duties diligently and honestly.

 

6 NFR rail buildings get Shunya Label tag

Maligaon: In line with the commitment to achieve Net Zero Carbon Emission, six significant buildings of Northeast Frontier Railway have been honoured with the “Shunya Label” for their remarkable achievement as Net Zero Energy Buildings. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, presented this accolade.The buildings that have clinched this remarkable recognition are the Railway Workshop Administrative Building; Supervisors Training Centre and Supervisors Training Centre Engineers Hostel of New Bongaigaon on February 13, 2024. Whereas, General Store Depot, Pandu, Guwahati; Running Room, Rangiya and Running Room, Katihar have been awarded on 20th June, 2024. Railway Workshop Administrative Building, New Bongaigaon was awarded with “Shunya Plus” and the other buildings with “Shunya” for a period of three years from the effective date.
