To wrap up the first round of the high-voltage election campaign Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be arriving in Jammu on Monday to address three back-to-back election rallies in Ramban and Kishtwar districts on the last day of the campaigning.
The voting is scheduled to take place across 24 Assembly segments on September 18.
A total number of sixteen (16) Assembly Constituencies of four southern districts of Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, and Pulwama districts and eight (8) assembly segments of three districts of Doda, Ramban, and Kishtwar will go to polls in the first phase.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday generated momentum in support of the BJP by addressing an impressive rally in Doda. On the occasion, Modi reiterated his government’s promise of restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and cautioned people against bringing the NC, Congress, and the PDP back to power.
“Amit Shah will address 3 rallies at Ramban, Kishtwar, and Padder,” BJP Spokesperson & Media Centre Incharge Arun Kumar Gupta said and added, “BJP is getting overwhelming response from the people across J&K and will form a government with the majority”.
This will be Amit Shah’s second visit. Earlier, he made a two-day visit to Jammu, where he not only released the party's manifesto but also addressed a large convention of party workers in Jammu city on the second day. Out of eight Assembly segments, the BJP is aiming to win the maximum seats and retain at least all four seats it won during the 2014 Assembly polls. On the other hand alliance partners Congress and National Conference are also working hard on the ground to improve their tally and give a tough fight to the BJP in Doda and Ramban.
