A three-day Chhattisgarh Folk Literature Conference concluded here on Monday with a suggestion that youths could play a key role to promote folk literature.
Noted litterateur Dr. Pardesi Ram Verma presided over the first session of the meet.
The conference was organized by the Chhattisgarh Rajbhasha Ayog at the Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium at the Science College.
The first session was dedicated to story writing and the second to poetry recitation.
In the first, eight people participated while there was 16 participants in the second.
Mahasamund's Bandhu Rajeshwar Khare narrated a story on how a son gets addicted to alcohol and gambling after the father's death instead of saving the family property.
Mangat Ravindra of Korba told the story of the happenings in a village square. Ramnath Sahu of Janjgir-Champa read a story focused on vengeance.
