A road accident took place late on Sunday night near Asanatand petrol pump located on Kodwadih Chandrapura main road of Nawadih police station area. In this accident, the grandmother who was returning after celebrating her granddaughter's birthday died on the spot. While three others were got seriously injured. All have been admitted to a private hospital in Dhanbad, where they are undergoing treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Dhundhiya Devi (54), wife of CCL employee Gautam Mahato, resident of Nawadih in Bokaro district.
Regarding the incident, it is said that Dhundhiya Devi had gone by car with her family to her daughter's house to celebrate her granddaughter's birthday. While returning home, the car went out of control and fell into a pit near Asanatand petrol pump. In this incident Dhundhiya Devi died on the spot.
After getting information about the incident, Nawadih police reached the spot and took the body in their custody and sent it for post-mortem and after that the body was handed over to the family members. Local mukhiya Kiran Devi, PNS Nirmal Mahato, BJP leader Nirmal Mahato, Ranvijay Singh, Govind Mahato, Bhuneshwar Mahato and others consoled the dependents.
