The State meteorological centre has issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/hail likely to occur at isolated places in eight districts of the State on Tuesday. The warning has been issued for Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts. Apart from this, very light to light rain/snowfall is likely to occur at a few places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Dehradun, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts and at isolated places in Tehri and Pauri districts on Tuesday. Further, snowfall is also likely to occur at places situated at altitudes of 3,500 metres and above while dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness partly cloudy skies with thunder cloud development likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 29 degrees Celsius and 13 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Monday were 28.2 degrees Celsius and 12 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 28.2 degrees Celsius and 10.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 18.2 degrees Celsius and 4.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 19.4 degrees Celsius and 7.2 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. Light rain was also reported in some parts of the State with four millimetres being recorded in Agastyamuni and 3.5 millimetres being recorded in Jakholi.
