Tuesday, 05 September 2023 | PNS | Chandigarh

Punjab Government will honour 80 teachers from across the state’s schools during the state-level function at Moga on the occasion of Teachers’ Day on Tuesday. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who will be the chief guest, will give away the awards to the teachers, selected under four different categories.

The state’s School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Monday approved the list of 80 teachers to be honoured in four categories. “The Teachers’ State Award will be given to 54 teachers while the Young Teacher Award will be given to 11 teachers. Apart from this, 10 teachers will also be given administrative awards and five teachers will also be facilitated with special honours,” he said.

“This time, the selection for the award was done by the district-level committee and the jury at the state level with a transparent manner to select the hardworking and deserving candidates,” said the Minister.

Congratulating all the teachers selected for the award by the State Government, Bains hoped that the teachers who received the award would become a beacon of light for other teachers.

Bains, extending warm greetings to the teaching fraternity on the eve of National Teachers’ Day, urged them to make all-out efforts to inculcate the noble qualities of discipline, righteousness, honesty, integrity, dedication, and good conduct in the students to enable them to become ideal citizens of the society.
