Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Ramkishore ‘Nano’ Kavre instructed the departmental officers to maximize public participation in yoga exercises on the 9th International Day of Yoga on June 21.
He said that citizens should be encouraged to practice yoga regularly at the health wellness centers operated in the state. Minister of State Kavre was reviewing the preparations for the International Yoga Day at Mantralaya today. Commissioner AYUSH Sonali Ponkshe Wayangankar was also present in the meeting.
It was informed that along with the principals of all the Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani colleges of the state, instructions have been given to through letters to the divisional and district AYUSH officers to make collective efforts.
This year, the theme of International Yoga Day has been kept as “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”. Commissioner AYUSH apprised that voluntary organisations Ram Chandra Mission, Heartfulness Sansthan, Gayatri Parivar and Swabhiman Manch are conducting yoga and meditation programmes at the rural level.
Jan-Abhiyan Parishad has also started an integrated campaign at the gram panchayat level. In the campaign, yoga is being developed in the life of every citizen by providing social harmony, good health and freedom from stress at the rural level with the concept of Ekatma.
