The Nishatpura police nabbed a vehicle-lifter near New Jail road on Sunday and recovered six two-wheelers and one e-rickshaw worth Rs 4 lakh from his possession.

According to the police, acting on a tip off a man was detained and when he was asked details regarding the vehicle he failed and confessed that the vehicle was stolen one. The nabbed accused was identified as Shabbir Khan (30).

In the initial investigation police have recovered five other vehicles from his possession which were stolen from different areas of the city. The miscreant is a resident of Sehore. He was nabbed with motorbike bearing registration number MP04QP2891.

Later it was found that the two wheelers were stolen from Habibganj, Aishbagh, Ashoka Garden, MP Nagar, Ayodhya Nagar area while an auto rickshaw was stolen from Karond area.

Details of recovered vehicles would be provided to the respective police stations. The police have started searching for other accomplices who have helped the accused in stealing and disposing of the vehicles.

Meanwhile, Gautam Nagar police have arrested a26-year-old drug peddler and recovered 1.01 kg of Cannabis in Nariyalkheda on Sunday; the accused was carrying drugs who was tracked by the police.

The police recovered a packet carrying the Cannabis. Based on the information regarding the suspect carrying drugs, the team searched the area and tracked the accused.<After the initial investigation police have registered a case under sections 8 and 20 of the NDPS Act. The crime record of the accused would be investigated.  The source of drugs from which the drug peddlers used to bring drugs would be investigated in the further investigation.
