Opposition BJP and Congress again raised the issue of killing of Minister Naba Das in the State Assembly on Monday.
Raking up the issue during Zero Hour, Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati termed it a “planned murder”. He said the ongoing Crime Branch (CB) inquiry is eyewash. Now, the probe is confined to find out whether murder accused Gopal Das is mentally sound. Nothing is being done to find out why he killed the Minister.
Reiterating his party’s stand for a SIT probe, Bahinipati sought a ruling from the Speaker to direct the Minister of State for Home to furnish information from time to time in the House regarding the ongoing investigation.
Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja said he has lost confidence in the Crime Branch investigation. He demanded that Bhatli BJD MLA and former Minister Susanta Singh be brought under the purview of investigation.
BJP MLA Subash Chandra Panigrahi also raised the Naba murder issue. He said that even though one month has passed to the murder, the probe is only revolving around Gopal Das.
“They are only trying to prove Gopal as mentally unstable. So, we demand a CBI probe,” said the BJP leader.
