Mayor gives job to dead worker’s wife
New Delhi: Mayor Dr. Shelly Oberoi handed over a permanent job appointment letter to the wife of a sweeper who lost his life in a road accident while on duty. This marks the first time in MCD history that a family has been given a permanent job after the death of a contract worker.
Gahlot inaugurates fitness centre at tihar
New Delhi: Delhi Home Minister Kailash Gahlot inaugurated electronic roti-making machine and geriatric fitness centre at Tihar Jail. In addition to the electronic roti-making machine, the Home Minister also inaugurated a Geriatric Fitness Centre at jail no 2. This centre is specially designed for old age inmates who can now receive fitness training with equipment under the supervision of a trained trainer. The facility will help elderly inmates strengthen their muscles, enhance flexibility and ultimately improve their fitness levels.
DJb vice chairman inspects Kondli wwtp
New Delhi: Delhi Jal Board Vice Chairman Somnath Bharti inspected the Kondli Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) on Friday that is being developed under Yamuna Action Plan-III and took stock of the progress of the project. Top officials of Delhi Jal Board were also present during the inspection. Describing Kondli WWTP as an important step for cleaning River Yamuna, Bharti said that the work of Kondli WWTP Phase 2 is about to complete and this phase of the plant will become operational from May 5. This phase will soon be operating at its full potential. Phase – 4 of Kondli WWTP will also reach its full capacity by September, 2023. Kondli WWTP has a capacity of 45 MGD. Phase 4 of the WWTP is currently operating at 50 per cent capacity. A total of 90 MGD of wastewater will be treated at Kondli WWTP on an everyday basis.
kejriwal govt allows women to work night shifts
New Delhi: Now, women in Delhi will be able to work night shifts with full security, with the Kejriwal Government having approved the draft for this change. Labour Minister Raaj Kumar Anand held a high-level meeting on Friday where he discussed with the officials of the Labour Department the draft policy made to allow women to work during night shifts, as well as other important issues, including their safety during the shift. Now, the Labour Department will seek suggestions and objections from the public, and after that the draft policy will be finalised.
