Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday launched a Mukhyamantri Sampooorna Pushti Yojana for adolescent girls, children and women to provide them the necessary nutritional support.
The Chief Minister also launched a ‘Pada Pushti’ programme.
Under the scheme, all the adolescent girls in the age group of 15 to 19 years would be provided with dry foods. The children with acute malnutrition would be provided with Purna Ahara. The medium and underweight children would be provided with eggs and Sattu enriched with vitamins.
In the Pada Pushti prgramme, Adivasi and remote area children would be provided with cooked food in their villages.
The CM said development has deep links with nutrition. The required nutrition of a family can only be provided by mothers. So, the programmes’ success depends on them. The Anganwadi Workers and Mission Shakti members have an important responsibility to make the programme a success.
