Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company (MP Transco) has energized a new power transformer of 50 MVA capacity increasing the transformation capacity of 132 KV substation Barhi in Katni district. Energy Minister of Madhya Pradesh Pradyuman Singh Tomar said that the transmission capacity of Katni district has been strengthened after the power supply started from this power transformer installed at an estimated cost of Rs 6.4 crore.
Due to which about 63,300 agricultural and domestic electricity consumers of 110 villages including various industrial units of Amarpur and Bharewa of Barhi and adjoining district Umaria will be benefitted. Now they will get reliable high quality power supply at proper voltage, as well as option of additional power transformer for power supply will also be available.
Electricity is supplied from 132 KV substation Barhi to urban areas along with Gaurtalai, Kua, Khitauli, Pipariya and Amarpur and Bharewa rural areas of Umaria district. Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar has congratulated the personnel of MP Transco for energizing this transformer which is very important for the power consumers of the area.
RK Gupta, Executive Engineer of MP Transco at katni , said that MP Transco supplies electricity from 132 KV substation Barhi through 04 feeders of 33 KV. With the installation of this new 50 MVA transformer, the transformation capacity of Barhi substation has increased to 90 MVA. In Katni district, the transmission company transmits electricity through its one 400/220 KV substation Katni and five 132 KV substations Katni, Barhi, Kaymore, Dhimarkheda and Sleemanabad. Now the total transformation capacity of Katni district has increased to 1653 MVA.
