A body of a taxi driver from Cuttack, who had gone missing for the last three days, was found along the National Highway at Ghasipura in Keonjhar district on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Bhagaban Baireeganjan, a resident of Kanas in Puri.
As per reports, Bhagaban picked up three passengers in his taxi from College Square in Cuttack to Jajpur on June 24. However, there was no trace of Bhagaban and the passengers from then.
Based on a missing complaint at the Malgodown police station, an investigation was launched and Bhagaban’s mutilated body was found along the NH at Ghasipura.
Meanwhile, Bhagaban’s car was recovered from the Govindpur area in Cuttack district.
Mystery shrouded the death of Bhagaban. While he was on his way to Jajpur, the recovery of his car from Govindpur and body from Ghasipura has deepened the suspense.
The Malgodown police have found CCTV footage of Bhagaban passing through the Tangi tollgate on June 24 night.
“An investigation into the incident has been launched, More information regarding the case could be divulged after the completion of the investigation,” police said.
