BJP State President and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi today welcomed the extension of Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana for the next 5 years by the Union Cabinet under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister.

Marandi said that the Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, started during the Corona period, has given great relief to the villages, poor, farmers and laborers.

He said that this scheme is beneficial for 81 crore poor people of the country. In the next 5 years, the Central Government will spend Rs 11.80 lakh crore in the implementation of this scheme.

He said that the Modi government is committed to Antyodaya from its first day. Poor welfare schemes are being implemented continuously. He said that crores of poor people of Jharkhand are getting the benefit of this scheme.

He said that due to the welfare schemes of the Modi government, the poor of the country are continuously coming above the poverty line.

The scheme was introduced in 2020 as a pandemic relief measure, under which 5 kg of free food grains per beneficiary per month was provided in addition to the 5 kg of subsidised foodgrain under the National Food Security Act (NFSA).

Initially, in 2020-21, the PMGKAY scheme was announced only for a period of three months (April- June 2020), however, it was extended until December 2022 in seven consecutive phases.

It benefitted 80 crore beneficiaries.

During an election rally in Durg on November 4, Chhattisgarh the Prime Minister had made the announcement of the decision to extend the free ration scheme.

Sahu terms Sarkar Aapke Dwar as failure

BJP State General Secretary and MP Aditya Sahu today reacted strongly to the Chief Minister's remarks. Sahu said that the Chief Minister is upset with the failure of his government program Sarkar Aapke Dwar, hence he is continuously giving unparliamentary and irresponsible statements.

He said that even after spending lakhs of rupees from the state government's treasury, the public is not able to participate in the program, hence now the chairs in the pandal are being filled with school children.

He said that the Chief Minister has nothing to say about development, hence he only wants to divert attention from his failures by making statements. He said that Chief Minister Hemant Soren has spread the filth of corruption in the state. From block to secretariat there is only corruption. There is only looting in the state. Looting of mines, minerals, sand and stone, looting of land.
