Special Operation Group of Hawk Force shot a Naxalite in Kundul-Koddapar forest area of balaghat district. He was carrying a reward of Rs 14 lakh declared by MP, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra.

On the basis of tip off by intelligence about the presence of a group of Naxalites of GRB Division in Kundul-Koddapar forest area under Police Station Rupjhar of Balaghat, the Special Operation Group of Hawk Force was sent to this area on September 29 2023 for search operation.

During the search, when the force was searching for Naxalites in this area, early in the morning a group of 10-12 Naxalites sitting in ambush from the east opened indiscriminate fire on the police party. A hardcore uniformed male Naxalite was killed in controlled but effective retaliatory firing by Hawkforce troops. A 30-06 rifle has been recovered from him.

The slain Naxalite has been identified as Kamal an active Maoist guard of ACM Tanda Joint Darreksa Area Committee, resident of SZCM Dama, Gangalur, West Bastar district, Bijapur (Chhattisgarh), who was active in MMC zone since 2015 and was currently with Malajkhand Dalam. There is a possibility that some more Naxalites may have been injured, hence a large-scale intensive search operation is being conducted in this area by CRPF and Hawk Force.

Designation of naxalite was ACM Tanda Joint Darreksa Area Committee (SZCM Dama Guard) of Pojer, District Bijapur Chhattisgarh and a 30-60 rifle was found from his possession.

Madhya Pradesh government declared a reward of Rs 3 lakh, Rs 5 lakh was declared by Chhattisgarh government and Maharashtra government a reward of Rs 6 lakhs.

Past criminal records in Madhya Pradesh 24 crimes were registered against him (wanted for crimes like murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping, arson).
