Chhattisgarh's Transport Department has decided to merge 108 and 1033 ambulance services for swifter action after accidents.
It has also decided to speed up improvement works at black spots on highways to prevent accidents.
An official communiqué said on Thursday that Transport Secretary S.K. Prakash reviewed the progress vis-a-vis the black spots, integrating cameras installed on highways and data from toll plazas.
It was decided to integrate ambulance services 108 and 1033 for quicker treatment of the injured persons on highways, the statement said.
