Jailed police Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Gopal Das, the alleged killer of Health Minister Naba Kisore Das, won 45 rewards during his service period in the Odisha Police, said Minister of State for Home Tushakanti Behera in the State Assembly on Monday.
Replying to a question by BJP MLA Kusum Tete, Behera said Gopal had received one promotion and 45 rewards for his performances.
“Gopal was appointed as a Constable on July 8, 1992 in the Brahmapur District Police. He was promoted to ASI in 2009 after serving in different police stations and outposts for a period of 13 years in Jharsuguda district,” the Minister said.
Gopal had received 18 rewards under the category GS Mark, nine monetary rewards and 18 commendations from 1993 till 2020, a list revealed.
