Chhattisgarh Election Commissioner Thakur Ram Singh on Friday asked officials to ensure free and fair elections.
He was addressing a virtual training session of Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers ahead of assembly and by-elections in urban bodies and three-their panchayats.
He told the officials to work with all seriousness.
He outlined the guidelines to be followed and spoke in detail about the arrangements to be made at the counting venues.
According to the schedule, nomination papers will be accepted till June 9.
Elections are to be held on 763 vacant posts of urban bodies in nine wards of nine municipalities in eight districts of the state and three-tier panchayats in 33 districts.
By-elections are to be held on 621 posts and general elections on 142 vacant posts.
