Election workers reach families of primitive tribal community

On the instructions of the Chief Electoral Officer, Jharkhand, a special campaign for voter registration was conducted in tribal dominated areas across the state as per the pre-determined program on Tuesday. Election related officials and booth level personnel organized special camps and conducted voter registration campaign in the settlements of the tribal communities like Birhor, Sabar, Asur, Pahadia etc. residing in various districts of the state.

On the instructions of the Chief Electoral Officer, officers from Ranchi also went to the area and participated in these camps. Voters from these areas who were not registered and whose names were missing got online Form 6 filled on the spot. During this, ERO, AERO, heads of some Panchayats, Panchayat servants, supervisors, BLOs etc. were also present.

Voters were also respected at some places. The officials welcomed the young men and women from primitive tribal settlements who were recently added to the voter list by giving them roses.

After running a one-day special campaign for the primitive tribes, on Wednesday 29th November, a special campaign will be conducted to survey those people of the state who are houseless, i.e. those who do not have any permanent residence. Help of municipal bodies is also being taken for surveys of such people.

On Thursday, November 30, a special campaign will be run for voter registration for senior citizens above 80 years of age.
