The contribution of Deendayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDUGKY) is very important in moving Pakur district towards self-employment, said Rural Development Minister, Alamgir Alam while inaugurating Rising Pakur programme on Tuesday in Pakur.

Under the DDUGKY, run by the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS), a workshop was organized on Tuesday in the presence of Alam in Pakur Deputy Commissioner (DC), Varun Ranjan. During this, Alam and Ranjan formally inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.

Addressing the gathering Alam said that JSLPS, under DDUGKY, the trainee will not have to bear any kind of expenditure for training from three months to two years. “The Government provides accommodation, food and other facilities to the trainees during the training. At present, there is a lack of awareness among people about the scheme. For this purpose, this workshop has been organized in which this scheme should be made successful with the participation of all you public representatives, officers of various departments, police officers and others.

“All the public representatives, your contribution is very important in the successful operation of the scheme. “An action plan has been prepared for the Department of Education, Health and Child Development and work is to be done in two phases under this. He said that the problems of all the three departments are faced and for this the Project Rising Pakur has been started and definitely a big change will be seen in these three areas in the coming time. The police officers should organize workshops at the police station level and play an important role in making the youth aware of the scheme,” said Ranjan.
