Regarding Muharram festival a meeting of the District Level Peace Committee was organized under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Garhwa Shekhar Jamuar, on Monday. In this meeting, members of the coordination committee, members of the Muharram Interjamia Committee, social workers and various public representatives participated.
In the peace committee meeting, the DC and SP Anjani Kumar Jha jointly highlighted various points to celebrate Muharram festival in peace and harmony.
It was said to take strict action against those involved in things like provocative speeches, songs, spreading objectionable facts and hurting religious sentiments. In order to celebrate Muharram festival peacefully, people of all communities were appealed to celebrate with mutual coordination and cooperation.
Superintendent of Police Garhwa said that the complete system of law and order should be ensured. Procession organizers were told that licenses will be issued only to the already licensed organizing team. The concerned Sub-divisional officers, block development officers, Circle officers and station in-charges were directed to coordinate with the organizers of each procession that the procession would be taken out on the prescribed route only. It was asked not to publicize any such objectionable post or facts on social media sites and inform the concerned responsible officials personally.
Talking about celebrating the festival under the issued government guidelines, he said that the district administration and police administration are with you for your cooperation. He especially asked both the communities to take care that no anti-social elements could commit any wrong act by taking advantage of the crowd and the opportunity. The administration will fulfill its responsibility. The common people celebrating the festival were also asked to respect law and order and celebrate it keeping in mind.
Sub-Divisional Officer Garhwa Raj Maheshwaram highlighted various precautions regarding Muharram festival. He said that under any circumstances, do not play any kind of provocative speech or song, so that someone's religious sentiments are hurt. Asked people to stay away from any kind of rumours.
The DC, listening to everyone's words, wished the people to celebrate Muharram festival peacefully and with mutual brotherhood.
