“Support of our customers is the driving force behind our success,” said Mr. Atanu Bhowmick, Director-In-Charge (DIC), SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) & Bokaro Steel Plant in his keynote address at the Customers Conclave held at Indo-German club on 22nd September, 2023. Mr. S R Suryawanshi, ED (Works), RSP, Mr. Atul Mathur, ED (Sales & ITD), Central Marketing Organisation (CMO), and Mr. Sanjay Agarwal, ED (Marketing), CMO were also present on the dais. It is noteworthy that esteemed customers of Hot Strip Mill -2 and New Plate Mill of RSP from different geographical regions of the country attended the conclave.
Speaking further the DIC said, “Quality, reliability, and efficiency are the pillars of excellence. Our dedicated teams at RSP, right from the engineers to the highly skilled technicians, are tirelessly working to improve our processes and innovate our offerings to deliver you the best service.” He expressed his gratitude to all the customers for their belief and faith on RSP because of which the steel plant has been able to thrive and push the boundaries in the steel industry. “RSP has been continuously modernizing its facilities by leveraging cutting-edge automation to enhance our production capabilities and meet the ever growing demands of the market” he added. He also reiterated RSP’s commitment to sustainability and its continuous efforts to reduce carbon footprint by embracing eco-friendly practices and efficient resource management. “We are committed to build a lasting relationship with our customers and provide unmatched services. We understand that our success is your success and vice versa” he concluded.
In his address, Mr. Mathur said, “We have been continuously evolving to enhance our capabilities according to the market demands and this conclave will helps us understand each other’s requirements for mutual benefits.”
Mr. Sanjay Agarwal thanked RSP for conducting such a unique conclave that brought SAIL and its customers together in a common platform. “Working of SAIL is customer-centric. We value our customers and this conclave provides the best forum for healthy deliberations for future improvements,” he added.
In his welcome address, Mr. S R Suryawanshi thanked the esteemed customers for their presence in the conclave and wished them a pleasant stay at the Steel city. He also highlighted the product profile of RSP and elaborated upon the diverse value added products being catered to the niche market.
A presentation on PEB and EME Segment – An overview was made by team CMO followed by another presentation by RSP on Preparedness and Mill facilities to service requirements of these segments. M/s Escorts, M/s IMOP, M/s Kirbee, and M/s RSB Transmissions also made presentations on their general company overview and their expectations to increase business with SAIL.
A threadbare interaction session was also held in which the esteemed customers interacted with the senior executives of RSP regarding various products and services. During the session they also thanked RSP for organizing the conclave which will help strengthen the mutual relationship. Mr. Atish Sarkar, CGM (Quality) summarized the discussion and Ms. Sunita Singh, CGM (PPC) proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Ankita Bilung, Senior Manager (RCL) coordinated the programme.
At the outset, the program began with rendition of National Anthem. A film on the journey of RSP, ‘Being the Best’ was screened on the occasion followed by films on Safety before the delegates proceeded to visit the Hot Strip Mill-2 and New Plate Mill of RSP. The delegates witnessed the state-of-the art facilities, processes, operations at both the Mills.
