The crime branch on Sunday arrested the gang involved in stealing BBU 5G network cards from the towers of Reliance Jio company, 10 BBU 5G network cards and an Alto car whose total value is Rs 35 lakh were seized from the accused.
The main accused turned out to be a former employee of Reliance Jio company who was terminated by the company.The accused used to commit theft at many places in Bhopal, Berasia Raisen and surrounding areas.
The cost of a 5G BiBu card is approximately Rs 3.5 lakh. The accused has stolen a total of 14 Base Band Unit (BBU) cards from the towers of Jio company.
The Crime Branch team received information from the informer that a white colored Alto car was seen sitting in the car on Nabibagh Berasia Road, Bhopal, where a boy was seen who was talking about selling the devices installed in mobile towers at cheap rates and based on the information he was caught and identified as Rahul Sharma of Guna.
He confessed that he used to work in Tower Company earlier and these were BBU cards which he had given to his friends Sanju Ahirwar, Mahendra Jogi, Sonu Chidar. Rahul, along with Saundhiya resident Gan Madhusudangarh, told to steal the BBU cards installed in Reliance Jio Tower and along with his associates, sold about 8 BBU cards to Javed of Karond Bhopal for Rs 12000.
From the spot two BBU cards were seized. He was reported to have committed theft from Berasia and Habibganj Bhopal railway station along with his associates and came to Bhopal Berasia Mandideep with his associates in the car of his uncle Shyam Babu and committed theft using the car.
The nabbed accused were identified as Rahul Sharma, Sanju Ahirwar,
Sonu Chidar, Javed Khan, Raisu alias Rais while Mahendra Jogi and Rahul Saundhiya are absconding.
