Continuous efforts are on to enhance electricity consumer services

Centralized call centres (1912) have been made functional and their capacity has been increased for speedy redressal of complaints related to electricity supply in urban and rural areas. There is also a provision for feedback system for consumer satisfaction after redressal of complaints.

Field officers are making personal contact with the dissatisfied consumers to resolve their problems. Energy Minister Pradyaman Singh Tomar has said that continuous efforts are on to improve electricity consumer services.

Minister Singh has told that photo meter reading is being done by the distribution companies through mobile app. Expanding this facility, the consumer has been given the facility to upload his reading along with the photo of the meter himself every month. An ultramodern and innovative open source technology based software has been prepared for the billing of consumers by the distribution companies.
