In the wake of intense cold weather conditions in the state capital Bhopal, schools from nursery to Class 5 will not start before 9 am as Collector Ashish Singh has issued this order on Tuesday in view of the cold conditions.
The Meteorological Department in the capital has predicted rain for the next four days i.e. till December 1. Due to Western Disturbance, there are chances of rain in the first week of December also.
It drizzled in the capital on Tuesday morning. After 10 o'clock the fog cleared and the sun shone. On Monday, intermittent drizzle during day and night has brought down the day temperature. On Monday, the day temperature dropped by 6.9 degrees to 20.8 degrees. It was 7 degrees less than normal. This is also the lowest day temperature in November in 25 years.
Due to humidity the night temperature will be between 15-16 degrees Celsius. Senior meteorologist Dr. Vedprakash Singh said that the system is becoming active again on 29-30 November. Due to this, there will be rainy season in many districts of the state including Bhopal till December 1.
In the next 24 hours weather will remain clear in most areas, but there may be drizzle in some parts of the old city and Kolar.
There may be light rain in Berasia, Navibag areas. There will be thunderstorms in other areas within 48 hours.
On December 1 light rain is expected in urban areas including Berasia. Meanwhile, sunny and shady weather will also persist.
Bhopal has received about half an inch of rain in the last 24 hours (from Sunday morning to Monday morning). This is the highest 1-day rainfall in November in 10 years. 54 years ago, the capital had received the highest rainfall of more than 3 inches in a single day in the month of November.
Madhya Pradesh Tourism PRO Vikas Khare said that in view of the demand, 8 new boats have also been included recently.
According to the Meteorological Centre, Bhopal, the weather is generally calm after the end of the south-west monsoon. This month the sky remains clear or surrounded by light clouds. However, November is not as humid as October. The night temperature starts falling. There is also slight coolness in the morning and evening. This time also the weather is similar. The period of rain started from late Sunday night, which continued on Monday also. The weather will remain like this for the next three-four days.
According to the Meteorological Department, Bhopal received rain only for three years between 2013 and 2023. There was 0.6 mm rainfall in the year 2019 and 0.2 mm rainfall in 2020, whereas this time 8.2 mm rainfall occurred in a few hours. Meteorologist Dr. Singh said that the effect of cold will increase in Bhopal from the first week of December.
On November 4, 1977, the day temperature reached 35.3 degrees Celsius. This is the all-time record for such a temperature in November.
On November 30, 1941, the night temperature reached 6.1 degrees.
In the year 1936, there was 134.1 mm or 5.2 inches of rain in the entire month. The record of highest rainfall in 24 hours is 76.4 mm i.e. 3 inches on November 10, 1969.
