On Monday, a demolition squad of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation demolished the entry gate of 9, Pithapur which houses the headquarters of Smt Nandini Satpathy Memorial Trust (SNSMT).
A safety wall had been erected to ensure that nobody falls into the filthy open drain which flows there. Neither the flow of the drain nor the service area of the drain was obstructed by this safety wall, but it was demolished. The property in 1932 was the headquarters of revolutionary martyr Bhagabati Charan Panigrahi.
In 1972 it used to be the HQ of the then CM Nandini Satpathy.
Former Councillor of Pithapur Kedar Prusty said, “This seems like a targeted attack on Suparno Satpathy. I had had a word with CMC Deputy Commissioner Ajay Mohanty and am sure that there was no obstruction at Nandini Madam’s home.”
Suparno Satpathy in a Facebook post shared the copy of the message sent to Commissioner of CMC Nikhil Pavan Kalyan
