CM to dedicate Jugsalai Railway Overbridge today

Tuesday, 31 January 2023 | PNS | Jamshedpur

It will be a dream come true for about one lakh people from the densely-populated Jugsalai and Bagbera localities of the city, who have been using the Jugsalai level crossing located between Tatanagar and Adityapur stations every day. The wait of over 100 years will come to an end with the inauguration of Jugsalai Railway Overbridge. CM Hemant Soren will inaugurate the new facility on Tuesday.

All preparations have been completed at the administrative level for the arrival of Soren in Jamshedpur. To review the preparations, DC Vijaya Jadhav and SSP Prabhat Kumar held a review meeting with the officers of administration and police and the deputed magistrate in the Collectorate Auditorium.

In the meeting, all the departmental officers and BDO-CO were instructed to be present with full preparation regarding the review meeting convened at DBMS, Auditorium along with the district level officials of East Singhbhum and Seraikela Kharsawan by the Chief Minister.

The Deputy Commissioner said that all the office bearers would reach the meeting place an hour before and take their seats, as well as help the office bearers of Seraikela Kharsawan to sit at the proper place. In DBMS Auditorium, from which gate the office bearers of which district will enter, information was given about the place of VIP's vehicle parking and office bearers' vehicle parking. The SSP said that all the officials will ensure that their vehicles are parked in the parking lot only so that there is no unnecessary jam on the road and the traffic system can be kept smooth.

To ensure tight security arrangements regarding the arrival of the CM, a large number of police forces along with 68 magistrates and 65 police officers have been deputed in 7 zones.

A guard of honor will be given to the Chief Minister on his arrival in Jamshedpur by road via Seraikela Kharsawan in the late evening.

The CM will also flag off air service from Sonari airport on January 31. He will inaugurate Jugsalai overbridge. He will address a review meeting at DBMS school and address a public meeting at Gopal Maidan.

The overbridge, which has been a long pending demand of the people residing at Jugsalai, is the highlight of the CM's visit.

The overbridge would ensure smooth traffic and avoid decongestion as the commuters face it now while crossing the level crossing. The existing Jugsalai roundabout will remain where it is not, but its size will be reduced marginally.

The residents of the densely-populated Jugsalai and adjoining Bagbera localities had set up Sarbadaliya Sangharsh Samiti (SSS) cutting across party lines.

Following repeated agitation by the SSS, the railway in the year 2011 had taken the initiative to construct an overbridge in collaboration with the RCD and decided to set up the railway overbridge for Rs 16 crores. As there were issues for both the railway as well as the RCD, the project was delayed by over a decade and the project cost escalated.
