CM raises concern over hike in Covid-19 cases

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday raised concern over the rise in Covid-19 cases in the state. He called for increasing testing of samples on a daily basis in all the districts.

Baghel also told the Health Department to maximise reserves transcription polymerase chain reaction (RTPCR) tests.

Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain chaired a meeting of officials at Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhawan) to review the status of Covid-19, arrangements for its prevention and control.

Director General of Police Ashok Juneja, ACS to CM Subrata Sahoo, Health Department Secretary Prasanna R and district level officers were connected through virtual mode.

Jain asked all the districts to compulsorily follow the guidelines issued by the state and central governments for control and prevention of corona infection, an official communication said.

He appealed to the Collectors to follow the Covid-19 protocol, corona testing and vaccination.

The district Chief Medical and Health Officers were asked to ensure adequate arrangements of oxygen cylinders, other life-saving equipment and medicines for the treatment of patients in hospitals.

Sahoo suggested preparedness with necessary kits and consumables, adequate medicines, equipment and trained manpower.

Prasanna stated that guidelines have been issued to all Collectors for prevention of corona infection. The positive samples should be sent for Whole Genome Sequencing. Mock drills have been completed in hospitals.
