Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has today expressed deep sorrow over the untimely death of 11 persons due to the collapse of the old private stepwell (bawdi) in Indore. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the incident is unfortunate. Eleven civilians could not be saved after several attempts. Instructions have been given to investigate the incident. The government is sensitive and stands with the families of the victims. As soon as the information about the incident was received, information about the rescue operations was taken by being in constant contact with the Indore administration.
Chouhan said that a relief amount of Rs 5 lakh each will be provided to the relatives of those who died in the incident. Along with free treatment of the injured, an amount of Rs 50 thousand each will be provided.
