Deputy Chief Minister and Health and Family Welfare Minister T.S. Singh Deo said on Friday that Chhattisgarh is moving towards universal health care.
“The budget of the Health Department is being continuously increased to provide good medical facilities,” he said.
“From April to September this year, free medical facilities worth Rs. 900 crore have been provided to people,” he said.
He said this while chairing a review meeting of the Health Department here.
Singh Deo reviewed the services and welfare schemes run by the department.
He also reviewed the work done under the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, the National TB Eradication Programme, Sickle Cell Screening, the Prime Minister National Dialysis Programme, National Leprosy Control Programme and more.
He told the officials to rationalise the purchase of medical equipment so that essential equipment and machines can be distributed properly among government hospitals.
