Chief Electoral Officer  (CEO) Anupam Rajan's clarification came after video of early soring of postal ballot papers in Balaghat. He said that the report of this entire matter has been sent to the Central Election Commission.

At present the nodal officer has been suspended in this case. A procedural error has occurred.

Rajan said that no counting of ballot papers has been done. Only assembly wise sorting of postal letters was being done. The sorting of the ballot paper was done in the presence of representatives of political parties.

Sorting was to happen at the scheduled time of 3 pm, but the nodal officer started sorting from 1:30 pm. Besides this, he also did not give proper information about sorting. In such a situation, due to this procedural error the nodal officer has been removed. A detailed report of the matter has been sent to the Election Commission.

Meanwhile in Khandwa 123 postal ballots of police personnel in Khandwa have been invalidated. Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan said that the voting through postal ballot in Khandwa on November 20 has been rejected.

The report of this entire matter has also been sent to the Commission. Along with this, as per the instructions of the Commission, action will be taken against the officer conducting the voting in the case.

In Khandwa, the SP had cast the votes of the policemen who were deprived of voting due to duty in the elections on  November 20.
