Hry CM inspects site for Ashok Singhal Ved Science and Technology University

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday inspected the proposed site for Ashok Singhal Ved Science and Technology University near village Mubarikpur in Gurugram. He along with the university management and district administration visited the site and reviewed the construction work of the university. Khattar directed the officers concerned regarding necessary works related to the development and construction of a road network around the proposed site for the university. He reviewed the map of the university building and inspected the proposed options for road connectivity to the institute. 

HAFED to commercially begin Millet procurement from today

Chandigarh: Haryana Government has decided to start procurement of millet from Saturday. As per the directions of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, commercial procurement of millet will be done by HAFED in Rewari, Kanina, Bhiwani, Kosli and Charkhi Dadri mandis from September 23. A government spokesperson said that FAQ quality millet will be purchased at the prevailing market rate from those farmers of the state who are registered and verified on the Meri Fasal-Mera Byora portal. The spokesperson said that the difference between the prevailing mandi rate and the Minimum Support Price (MSP) will be paid to the farmers under the Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana of the state government.

 Hry to organise two training sessions annually for Civil Secretariat officers

Chandigarh: Haryana Government will organize two Training and Feedback sessions annually for Civil Secretariat officers, Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal said while inaugurating a one-day Training and Feedback session for Under Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, and Joint Secretaries of the Civil Secretariat here on Friday. Emphasizing ethics, he said that the state government is implementing Mission Karmayogi Haryana, a pioneering initiative to revolutionize the state's governance landscape by providing ethical and responsive governance training to over 3.3 lakh government officials. He highlighted the significant role played by undersecretaries, Deputy Secretaries, and Joint Secretaries as the institutional memory of the Secretariat. Their enduring contributions are an invaluable asset to the administration, especially considering that IAS officers serve for only a limited tenure in the Civil Secretariat. In contrast, Secretariat officers diligently carry out their responsibilities over an extended period.

Pb Minister issues instructions for early disposal of arbitration, court cases

Chandigarh: Punjab Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO on Friday directed the officers to ensure immediate disposal of arbitration cases besides expediting the handling of Department’s court cases. Reviewing the pending arbitration and court cases of different zones within the Public Works Department (B&M Branch), the Minister expressed concern over the pending cases, asking officials to promptly address arbitration cases and ensure the handling of court cases. He also instructed Department secretary Priyank Bharti to forward the case to the Finance Department for appointing a dedicated panel of expert lawyers to expedite case settlement, saving both time and money of the government.

Punjab exempts BCs, economically disadvantaged from 2% guarantee fee condition

Chandigarh: Punjab Government on Friday announced the exemption of the two percent guarantee fee requirement for the betterment of backward classes and economically vulnerable individuals. Social Justice, Empowerment and Minorities Minister Dr Baljit Kaur said that the Backward Classes Corporation provides loans at low-interest rates for self-employment schemes aimed at benefiting the BCs and economically disadvantaged individuals, enabling unemployed youth from these communities to establish their own businesses.

Master Trainers ready to empower Punjab's rural landowners

Chandigarh: Punjab is set for a transformative journey with the ‘Mera Ghar, Mere Naam’/ ‘SVAMITVA Scheme’ as Master Trainers are now fully equipped to drive its success. Under the guidance of the state Special Chief Secretary (Revenue) KAP Sinha, the one-day training program was inaugurated by Keshav Hingonia, Special Secretary Revenue-cum-Mission Director of SVAMITVA to the Government of Punjab on Friday. All the Additional Deputy Commissioners (General) and District Revenue Officers from all the 23 districts of the state participated in the training session.

Punjab Vidhan Sabha officials given training on use of new digital technology

Chandigarh: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Friday said that the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA app) will make legislative processes more accessible to the general public, and the live telecast of the House proceedings will promote accountability and confidence in the democratic process. Sandhwan, addressing the officials on the last day of the two-day NeVA workshop and training, said that the Assembly officials were given training about the use of new digital technology during the five sessions program, including notice office, notice section and digital schedule, question branch and translation branch, online house committee module of the committees of the Vidhan Sabha.

Foundation stone of MCC's sensory park laid at Sector 22 D


Chandigarh: Taking special care to offer a variety of ways of meeting the play and leisure needs of children and adults with and without disabilities, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh is constructing a Sensory Park at Sector 22 D. City Mayor Anup Gupta laid the foundation of the park in the presence of Municipal Commissioner Anindita Mitra and others. The idea of sensory park focuses on engaging and enhancing multiple senses and abilities of individuals like sight, taste, smell, touch, hearing, mobility and motor skills and intellectual skill etc. The park also offers a variety of ways of meeting, play and leisure needs of children with and without disabilities. The play area proposed to have rubber flooring which enhances the safety of children. For visually impaired individual, tactile cement concrete tactile pavers will be used which serves as directional indicators.
